The Corniche was Rolls-Royce's coup and convertible version of the Silver Shadow produced between 1971 and 1996. It was named â Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward Two-Door Fixedhead Coup ', before 1971 after which the more elegant name of â Cornicheâ was applied. The model was assembled and finished in London at Mulliner Park Ward as a continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow coup and was also sold as a Bentley although that model became known as the Continental in 1984. The first car to wear the Corniche name was a 1939 prototype based on the Bentley Mk. V which was never produced due to the onset of World War I.
This example is presented in the classic combination of dark blue with a light tan leather interior. The interior is original and shows wonderful patina. In the history file accompanying the car there are various invoices from specialists showing works carried out over the last few years, in particular considerable expenditure at N. Sandell in Isleworth for engine, hydraulics and brakes to mention a few. The car is presented with a valid MoT test certificate which expires in March 2019. These classic British luxury coup s are serene on the road and exude class wherever they are. A true classic in every sense and this example is no exception.
