The Jaguar XK150 was manufactured between 1957 and 1961 and despite having a family resemblance to the XK120 and XK140, the XK150 was radically modernised. A one piece windscreen replaced the split screen and the wing line no longer dropped as much over the doors. The bonnet was widened, opened down to the wings and on the roadster, the bulkhead was moved back four inches to make the bonnet longer. In the interior, the XK140's walnut dashboard was replaced by a leather trimmed unit. The standard engine, the same as fitted to the XK140, was the 3.4 litre DOHC Jaguar straight-six rated at 180bhp at 5750rpm. Either wire wheels or disc wheels could be specified and the suspension and chassis were very similar to that on the XK140. These were high performance, well appointed sports touring cars and could cope with long distances with alacrity.Having been manufactured on 14th July 1958, this genuine righthand drive XK150 is presented in resplendent RAF blue with contrasting grey leather interior and navy blue carpets. This XK150 has had some recent restoration work over the past few years and clearly to a very high standard. Showing 75,000 miles, we are informed by our vendor the engine runs and starts perfectly and has been recently fettled. This Browns Lane Jaguars is supplied with a stainless steel exhaust system, Kenlow fan, chrome wire wheels with Verdensten tyres and upgraded Cooper Craft front brake calipers originally an automatic example this Coup was also converted to manual gearbox. In addition NNJ 535 has benefitted from a replacement headlining and front windscreen whilst recently the bumpers and overriders have been re-chromed and various brightwork restored. A genuinely lovely and well prepared XK150 that we are informed wants for nothing. This example would look equally at home at any classic car show as it would do touring the great British countryside, bristling with charm and Jaguars typical effortless elegance.
