    Auction Info

    Odometer: 116400 miles

Stuttgart supplied these grand-tourers with high levels of comfort including a fabric convertible top as well as a colour-matched and manually detachable hardtop that could be fitted over the stored fabric convertible roof. Other advancements included an electronically controlled damping and the famous hidden, automatically extending roll-over bar. These incredibly accomplished, five litre sportscars represent a truly advanced way to travel.

Offered in black on black, this desirable SL500 is accompanied by a comprehensive service history with the most recent service in August of 2021, this sits alongside ten main dealer stamps and a further five independents which are all found in the history file and leather-bound book pack. Offered with two keys, this example has recently been treated to a new electric hood and a complete gearbox rebuild in July 2021 by JT Automobiles of Kent which has a warranty until July 2023. Coupled to this is a power steering box and pump replacement and suspension works totalling a significant spend in the last five years. The alloys are described as unmarked and the desirable hardtop is present. The five litre variants are the most desirable of the R129 due to their power and effortless driving and this example with an MoT test certificate valid until September 2022 is no exception.
