The XK8 is a grand tourer car that was launched in 1996 and was the first generation of a new XK series available in either coup or convertible body styles and with the new 4.0 litre Jaguar AJ-V8 engine. The 1998 XKR was introduced with a supercharged version of the engine. Both the XK8 and XKR are electronically limited to a maximum of 155mph, the top speed of its predecessor, the XJS V12, being 158mph. A navigation system and self-levelling xenon headlamps came as standard with the XKR with Jaguar's adaptive cruise control as an optional feature available on both models. Both come with all leather interior, burr walnut trim and side airbags. During a Top Gear test-drive, Jeremy Clarkson likened the interior of the original XK8 to sitting inside Blenheim Palace.
Originally supplied by H.A.Fox in Southampton on 2nd October 2000, this XKR Coup is finished in Carnival Red with Oatmeal sport interior, with birds eye maple wood. The vendor has owned this Jaguar since January 2015 and has enjoyed owning her immensely. Covering some 10,000 miles under his stewardship, these supercharged Jaguars are superb to drive. With 15 stamps in the service book, latterly by a marque specialist, this XKR has been exceedingly well cared for throughout its 18 years on British roads. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate together with the original service books, this Jaguar also benefits from having a new set of tyres sitting on Detroit alloy wheels and has been recently serviced. Offering superb value for money XK8 and XKRâ s are fast becoming recognised as a future classic.
